Intemate was The usual development life cycle process starts with systems analysis phase. This phase involves the following three steps: identifying problems, analyzing and documenting existing systems, and finally establishing information requirements. Appropriate documentation for this phase includes data flow diagrams and flow charts. The conceptual/ logical data model step comes next. Data requirements are translated into business subjects or entities and relationships between them (the E-R model). After creating the conceptual data model, a data dictionary is established and documented. The system design phase generates the following deliverables:

- Input screens specification (GUI interface) - Output specification (reports and displays) - Logical database model and structure - Data dictionaries - Specifications for business computations and processing logic Once system design specifications and documentation are complete, system development can proceed. Our methodology for developing systems makes use of Oracle latest development tools: Designer 9i (CASE tool) and Developer 9i. Database logical and physical design is achieved up to generating DDL SQL scripts thus integrity and consistency is guaranteed. Oracle Forms and Reports generation development modules are also deployed. During development, application modules are tested and validated. Unit and integrative tests ands test data should be agreed upon. The next-to-final step in developing an information system is implementation; i.e. putting the developed system into operation. Implementation plan includes conversion strategy (if applicable) and user training. The final step of the systems development cycle is evaluation and maintenance.
